Research in the Department of Geological Engineering is focused on the increased understanding of geological processes and the reconstruction of the Earth's history to illuminate its future and reflect the diversity of out faculty and tackle a wide range of problems: Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology, Tectonics, Structural Geology and Stratigraphy, Active Tectonics, Sedimentology, Paleoceanography, Geochemistry, Biogeochemistry, X-Ray Clay Mineralogy, Magmatic and Metamorphic Petrology, Ore Deposits, Medical Geology, and Environmental Geosciences.
